Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-08.1
This Cookie Policy explains how PrepQuickly LLC (“PrepQuickly”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and web application (the “Service”), and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember preferences, and provide measurement information. We also use related technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage; everything in this policy that says “cookie” applies to those too.
2. Categories we use
We group cookies into the categories below. Necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot function without them. The other categories default to off and only turn on if you accept them through our cookie banner or the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer.
2.1 Necessary cookies
Required for core functionality such as keeping you signed in, securing forms against cross-site request forgery, and remembering your cookie choices. You cannot turn these off and still use the Service.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| pq_consent_v1 | Stores your cookie consent choice (necessary / analytics / marketing) | 1 year | PrepQuickly (first-party) |
| CognitoIdentityServiceProvider.* / amplify-* | Maintains your authenticated session and refresh tokens | Session / per Cognito configuration | AWS Cognito (Amplify) |
| CSRF / form-state tokens | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Session | PrepQuickly (first-party) |
2.2 Analytics cookies
Not currently in use. The cookie banner exposes an “Analytics” category so that, if we add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future, no tracking will run unless you accept it. If we add an analytics provider we will update this page before the provider is wired up and any related cookies are set.
2.3 Marketing cookies
Not currently in use. The cookie banner also exposes a “Marketing” category for future use. PrepQuickly does not currently set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this page and require your opt-in before any marketing cookies are set.
3. Third-party cookies set when you sign in with Google or Facebook
If you choose to sign in using Google or Facebook through AWS Cognito, those providers may set cookies on their own domains as part of the OAuth flow. Those cookies are governed by the third party's policies, not ours:
4. How to manage your choices
On PrepQuickly: use the cookie banner that appears on first visit, or click Cookie Preferences in the site footer at any time. You can switch the Analytics and Marketing categories on or off and your choice is stored in the pq_consent_v1 cookie for one year.
In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking necessary cookies will break authentication and break the Service.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we treat a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser as an opt-out of analytics and marketing categories on the device sending it. We do not respond to other Do Not Track signals because there is no consensus standard for them.
5. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We will update this page when our cookie use changes (for example, when we add a new third-party tool). The date at the top reflects the latest version. We will request consent again if a material change requires it.
